Dane is a commercial barrister. He is an experienced advocate, having appeared in most Courts and Tribunals. He advises solicitors and corporate clients on a wide range of commercial law matters including: contract, corporations, consumer, retail tenancy and shareholder disputes. He has also acted in building and construction matters for builders, building surveyors and owners.

He has an Honours Degree from Monash University and has been a lawyer for more than 23 years. 

Dane was a solicitor with a leading national law firm in Melbourne for several years as well as being the principal and legal director of his own legal practice specialising in litigation.

In private practice, he acted for many large corporate clients such as the the Chemist Warehouse group for which he acted in all manner of landlord and tenant disputes in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and the Northern Territory for more than 8 years.

He is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria’s Courts' Committee (of which he was Chair for a number of years) and its Litigation Executive. He is a member of the Federal Court’s Insolvency (Bankruptcy and Insolvency) User Group and a was a member of the Victorian Chief Justice’s Supreme Court’s Rules Committee for 4 years. Dane has also taught Civil Procedure at RMIT University.

Dane has extensive business experience. Prior to becoming a lawyer, he worked in various roles with two Australian banks and in senior management for some of the world’s largest hospitality and tourism operators - where he had responsibility for businesses with multi-million dollar turnover.

Accordingly, he understands the commercial imperatives and drivers of your business. He can ensure that you are advised, and your litigation is conducted, effectively and efficiently with your goals in mind.
